Work At Home The Cost of Stay at Home Moms

We are dealing today with women that work at home and the cost of stay at home moms, and how many are switching to owning their own businesses at home.

There is an accepted wisdom going around that says stay-at-home moms do so because it just seems it pays not to work, rather than to work and hold a full time job in the work market place.

Experts state, numerous moms emerge to be residing with their children because it does not pay to work.

“They just think they don’t have enough learning and skill … where their pay would cover their children's care, transport and clothes,” said Stephanie Coontz, a professor of history and family investigations at The

Evergreen State College in Olympia, Wash., and co-chair of the assembly on Contemporary Families.

Of course...
there are plenty of middle-class women with a high level learning who are stay at home full time moms with their young kids. But some investigations undertook in latest years have found that less-educated moms and those who reside in in lower-income families are usually more expected to stay home with the children than more-educated moms and or those who reside in higher-income families.

An investigation of government facts and figures on married mothers ages 25 to 54, made for the Council on Contemporary Families some years before, discovered that women whose husbands were in the lowest 25 percent of the male working distribution were most expected to stay home and raise their children full-time.

The next most expected group of moms to stay at home were all the way on the other end of the economic spectrum, married to husbands whose earnings put them in the peak 5 per hundred of the male earners.

Paula England, a sociology lecturer at New York University and one of the paper’s co-authors, said her other, more recent study furthermore has shown that general, more-educated moms are more expected to be employed. She conceives that’s because they can get occupations that pay sufficiently enough to make it worthwhile to work.

“Women who can’t get good occupations anyhow – perhaps not sufficient to cover their child care charges or perhaps not worth it in meaning – are the ones who are more expected to, if they have a married man, make the assessment (to stay home),” England said. “It actually is kind of the converse of what many people believe.”

She documented that there is that tiny slice of stay-at-home moms with very high-earning husbands. But over the board, she said, the better a job a mom can get, the more likely she is to be engaged.

Women of all backgrounds are swiftly moving towards starting a business in their home because it is a lot more rewarding to work at home, as well as the money to be made in most cases are higher.
